Flying Man made it safely home, barely! Old Man Winter had a nice greeting for him. Welcome home! Here's 8" of snow and it's just barely above 0F. The roads were so bad between us and base, under normal circumstances I would have stayed home. We made it!
Here we are, waiting with mounting excitement for the plane to land. We were able to track the flight online and they put it up on a huge screen for everyone to see. It was pretty exciting when we saw they were 20 due west of us. That put them directly over our house.
I'm so glad there were other people there taking pictures. I saw James' bald head walk through the door and A#1, 2 and 3 took off running! They were able to snake through the crowd much faster than me so I completely missed seeing this hug. I'm so happy for this picture. And it's a great picture too!
It didn't take long for Squeakers to warm up to Daddy.
We've had a great time since Daddy got back. Sub-zero temps, 11" of snow on the way, fixing snowblowers, discovering the Scion's battery is toast, unclogging the kitchen sink, unpacking. Oh boy, the fun is overwhelming! I'm starting to think a little mini-vacation might be a good idea.
We're going to have a nice little Thanksgiving with just us tomorrow. Turkey, pumpkin not-pie, sweet potatoes, green beans, buttermilk mashed potatoes... yum yum!
