I started "An American in China" from Knitty several months ago and it has a linen stitch sole. She says to turn every 4 rows and do a short row. Hopefully they'll be sturdy, if I ever get them done! That was where I learned "Judy's Magic Cast On" and fell in love! How do people invent such things?

Lol! Here I thought I was being clever :-) Every 4 rows sounds about right to me. Let me know how they hold up.
I like the magic cast on for toe up socks too.
